Even on a marked route, having the right tool makes all the difference. The Canoë France mobile app – developed by the GIE Rivières de France, of which we are a member – was designed specifically for river descent enthusiasts. It even works without permanent network coverage, as the data is preloaded before departure.
Before your canoe or kayak departure

- Check the river’s specific features and suggested routes: distance, estimated duration, required skill level, points of interest
- Locate our base in Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère and get directions to get there easily
During your canoe or kayak trip
- Geolocate yourself in real time on the river, even without a mobile network
- Discover the services accessible from the water: restaurants, campsites, riverside shops
- Explore cultural and natural points of interest: historical monuments, geological curiosities, flora and fauna. For a complete service, request an audio guide at the reception of our base.
- If you encounter difficulties, provide your precise location to facilitate rescue efforts.
- Identify the nearest landing point if you need to interrupt the descent (weather change, etc.)
🌐 Works without a network!
The unique characteristics of certain sections of the Vézère River (gorges, steep-sided valleys) mean areas with poor mobile coverage. The Canoë France app addresses this by preloading all the data in advance. Your GPS works independently of the phone network.
